Former Lt Gov Of Texas Ben Barnes
A protégée of democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson, Ben Barnes won a seat in the Texas House of Representatives at the tender age of twenty-two. Politician Ben Barnes became a top lieutenant and a close ally of Texas Governor John Connally. Three years later, at only 26, politician Ben Barnes was elected Speaker of the House in Texas. Twenty-six years of age made Ben Barnes the youngest Speaker of the House in Texas state history. His political career reached its peak in 1968 when he became Lt. Governor of Texas. Again, he was the youngest ever to win this office.
Former Lt. Governor of Texas, Ben Barnes led an exciting, unpredictable political life which has seen role changes throughout the years. His most recent foray into politics was as a co-chair of the John Kerry campaign, continuing to further the democratic cause in the United States. |
